Isla Vista Screen Printing was established in 2009 when experienced screen printer Jose Cardoso and youthful entrepreneur Garrett Gerstenberger combined forces hoping to not only venture into the screen printing market with a professional mindset, but also with a personal effort to become an integral part of the greater central coast community.
Garrett Gerstenberger, whose passion for screen printing began as a young, high school teenager, started printing in his garage as a second year at the University of California Santa Barbara. As a young sole proprietor, he was still learning the tricks of the trade when he met Jose Cardoso, another local business owner with over twenty-five years of experience.
After developing a strong and unique relationship, the two decided to come together to efficiently use their experience and resources of screen printing, graphic design, marketing, and sales.
Jose Cardoso and his screen printing skills are to Michael Jordan's talents for basketball. His honed skills after decades of dedicated time, work, and management push to make Isla Vista Screen Printing capable in all possible ways in embellishment and production output. Besides Jose's and Garrett's experience in the industry, they both uniquely bring together two very different cultures... only to understand how two best friends for life work, think, and act almost exactly the same.
